Product Overview

Quiet-22™ Segmented HP generates 75 percent less perceived noise than a standard velocity 22 Long Rifle round. However, its Segmented HP bullet splits in three on impact, with each section creating its own distinct wound channel to bring down small game fast.

  • 40-grain Segmented HP bullet breaks into three pieces on impact
  • 75 percent less perceived noise than standard 22 Long Rifle
  • No hearing protection needed when fired in locked-breech firearms
  • Standard 22 Long Rifle case
  • Excellent accuracy

Slower Is Better!
CCI Sub-Sonic Quiet-22 Segmented Hollow Point 22 LR 40 Grain CCI’s Sub-Sonic Quiet-22 Segmented Hollow Point 22 LR 40 Grain is the Safest Slow and Quiet 22 caliber bullet for dispatching predators and varmits at close ranges without ricocheting and damaging traps or surrounding property. Slower Is Better! I use segmented hollow point bullets to dispatch trapped predators (usually raccoons, opossums, skunks, coyotes etc.) that will attempt to climb my 7’ high chain link coop fence to kill my chickens. Slower segmented fragments do not damage the trap and effectively kill the predator, even if the shot is slightly off-center to the head. To dispatch a predator at point blank range in a trap, the speed of the fragmented segments should not be an overkill with damage to the trap and surrounding area if the segments exit the skull or ricochet. Segmenting bullets are better than Solid Bullets & preferred over regular Hollow Point Bullets for a quick humane kill of predators. Now, Will CCI Manufacture: 50 cartridge plastic dispenser boxes of Sub-Sonic Quiet-22 Segmented HP 22 LR bullets in a 32 or 27 Grain or even lighter weight @ approximately 700 fps or slower? All I want is to Quietly Penetrate into the Skull of Predators, do Maximum Damage for a Humane Kill and STOP Without Exiting the Skull. It is ok if it doesn’t reload automatically; ~ keeping the breech closed maintains a quieter shot. Most people shooting varmints around their property are killing them at less than 50 feet. In this case, Slower Is Better!

Amazing
This round is stupid quiet! These are far quieter than the sub sonics. I was skeptical that these would open up and segment but so I fired them into a milk jug of water in the back yard. I recovered two of the three segments from the water. One made it through to the other side. These things are simply amazing here quiet they are out of a bolt action rifle. I will be buying more of these.

Very quiet, but...
They are so quiet, like an air rifle. But they don't always kill rabbits outright. About half my rabbits hop away after being hit. They must die slowly. You could argue my accuracy isn't good enough. I need to hit them in the chest or head to kill them instantly. I find subsonics are more reliable for rabbits. The extra 300 fps packs much more hitting power.

Nice, quiet, hunting round
This, like it's target cousin, works GREAT out of my Henry Carbine. I've never fired it over the chrono, but other rounds from CCI have averaged above spec from this rifle.
